Dear Sangha Friend,
As we move into the mid-point of ango, Shugen Sensei will lead the Spring Ango Intensive: Playing in the Buddha Field, from April 13-16. At the conclusion to that weekend, we'll do our traditional Ango Hike to the top of Mount Tremper, led by the Ango's chief disciple, Valerie Meiju Linnet, and buoyed by the energy we've cultivated so far throughout the ango.
A new retreat with Zuisei Goddard
The weekend of April 21-23, Zuisei Goddard will lead a new retreat called Taming the Mind: Shantideva's Teachings on Guarding Introspection. Drawing from the 8th-century source text as well as Pema Chodron's commentary, we'll learn how to cultivate and maintain a mindful attitude in our meditation and throughout our lives. Visit the retreat page, where you can also find a podcast conversation with Zuisei talking about the themes that will be covered.
Looking Ahead
As Ango continues into May, acclaimed choreographer and theater director Vangeline will join us May 12-14 for an immersive experience of Butoh; the Japanese modern dance form that combines movement, music and mood. Find the full description for Butoh: The Crucible of Body and Mind on our website, along with links to Vangeline's work.
