Congratulations, Graduates!
USG honored nearly 1,000 fall 2018 and spring 2019 graduates from its nine partner universities at two signature events. USG’s Graduation Celebration for undergraduate students was held on Thursday, May 9 and featured a keynote by County Council President Nancy Navarro. The Graduation Gala for graduate and professional students was held on Friday, May 10 and Dr. Annica Wayman, UMBC Associate Dean for Shady Grove Affairs, delivered the keynote.

Outstanding Seniors Recognized at Student Achievement and Leadership Awards Breakfast
USG honored 23 graduating seniors from undergraduate programs at USG for their outstanding academic achievement, drive to excel outside of the classroom, and commitment to serving the community during the 15th Annual Student Achievement and Leadership Breakfast on April 12.

Dedicated Faculty, Staff Honored with 2019 Kendall Awards
The late Cliff Kendall, a former USG Board member and University System of Maryland Regent, and his wife Camille, generously established three annual awards that recognize faculty and staff who have performed exceptionally in supporting student success at USG. The three Kendall Awards are: Excellence in Teaching, Program Director of the Year and Outstanding Service to Students.

UMBC Launches Translational Life Science Technology Program at USG, in Partnership with Montgomery College

College students looking to gain a competitive edge in the rapidly growing biotechnology and life sciences industry can now earn a Bachelor of Science in Translational Life Science Technology (TLST) from UMBC, through a new and first-of-its-kind program offered at USG, in partnership with Montgomery College.
State Circle Interview

Maryland Public Television's State Circle Interviews Dr. Stewart Edelstein

USG's Executive Director Stewart Edelstein was interviewed on Maryland Public Television's State Circle show. Among the topics he discussed was the upcoming opening of the Biomedical Sciences and Engineering (BSE) Education Facility and the economic impact it will have for the region. The interview begins at the 9:35 mark.
