GP7200 fan hub under ice in Greenland
GP7200 engine inspections ordered following study of Air France A380 fan hub
Regulators have ordered operators of A380s with Engine Alliance GP7200 engines to undertake inspections following insight gained after inspection of the recently recovered fan hub from AF66. The Air France A380 suffered an uncontained engine failure over Greenland in 2017. The inspections will focus on the fan hub blade lock to ensure it has not been damaged during fan blade removal.
