Condor captain’s coffee causes Cancun cancellation
A Condor captain’s spilled coffee shorted out his audio control panel and damaged the first officer’s, requiring a diversion, according to a UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch report released this week.

Door blows off 777-9 static test frame during stress test
Reports indicate a cargo door blew off the aircraft during final load testing, in which the aircraft is pressurized far beyond anything it will ever experience in flight as part of its certification. Boeing has suspended static testing of the aircraft while it resolves the issue. 
A WOW Air A321
WOW Air, again... maybe?
After purchasing the rights to the WOW brand, a group led by 
Michele Ballarin of USAerospace Associates says that WOW will return in October, flying between Washington (IAD) and Reykjavik (KEF). The airline abruptly ceased operations in March of 2019. No details have been released and no official launch has been announced, but a press conference last week provided some interesting insight into Ballarin’s vision for a new WOW.

Regulator divisions could delay MAX’s return
Differing opinions among FAA, European, and other regulators threaten to delay the 737 MAX’s return to service even after the FAA re-certifies the aircraft. EASA will conduct its own test flights of the MAX before allowing it to fly in Europe, and India announced today that it wants MAX pilots to undergo simulator training prior to returning the aircraft to service.

Azul took delivery of the first Embraer E195-E2 yesterday in Sao Jose dos Campos. The E195-E2 is the largest aircraft ever produced by Embraer.

Beijing’s Daxing Airport to begin regular operations on 15 September
The Chinese capital’s newest airport is set to open Sunday to regular operations. The airports IATA code is PKX and ICAO code is ZBAD.
