Lease returns, the process of sending a leased aircraft back to its lessor, have begun for former Thomas Cook, Aidra Airways, XL Airways, and Aigle Azur aircraft. But where are they going? Boeing 737-800
FAA requires 737NG pickle fork inspections
Cracks in multiple 737NG pickle forks, supports where the aircraft body and wing meet, discovered during passenger-to-freight conversions have prompted the FAA to issue an airworthiness directive requiring inspections of all 737NG aircraft with 30,000 flight cycles within 7 days. Only 737NGs (-600, 700, 800, 900) are affected. 737 Classics and MAX are not covered by this AD.

UPS Drone
UPS receives FAA Part 135 approval for drone operations
UPS has received Part 135 Standard approval from the FAA, making it the first company to operate a drone airline. The company completed its first revenue generating beyond visual line-of-sight flight this week.

L-1011 Stargazer
Stargazer L-1011 set to launch NASA ICON satellite this month
The L-1011 Stargazer will launch the NASA ICON satellite this month from a Pegasus XL rocket off the coast of Florida. The rocket is fitted to the bottom of the aircraft, then released at altitude before igniting and carrying the satellite to space.

The first SAS A350 breaks cover
Wearing the airline’s new livery, the first A350 for SAS has broken cover in Toulouse. Test flights will be conducted as F-WZHJ before the aircraft is registered permanently as SE-RSA
