FAA expands pickle fork airworthiness directive

The FAA has expanded its airworthiness directive regarding cracks in 737NG pickle forks, now requiring inspections of 8 fasteners instead of 2, after recent inspections discovered cracks outside the scope of the FAA’s previous mandate. Aircraft already inspected will need to be inspected again.

Go Air flight diverts after a runway excursion and go around in Bengaluru
A Go Air A320neo operating flight 811 from Nagpur to Bengaluru touched down to the left of the runway at Bengaluru in soft earth before initiating a go around. The aircraft subsequently diverted to Hyderabad. No injuries were reported.

Envoy flight slides off runway in Chicago
Snow and ice on the runway contributed to an Envoy E145 veering off into the grass on the left side of the runway on Monday. No injuries were reported, however, the aircraft suffered substantial damage to its main undercarriage and right wing. One passenger was filming the landing when the aircraft exited the runway.

Airbus BelugaXL
Airbus BelugaXL granted certification by EASA
The BelugaXL, Airbus’ super-sized aircraft component transport, earned type certification this week. Two BelugaXL’s will soon begin their work carrying components to the Airbus final assembly lines. The total BelugaXL fleet will eventually rise to five. Airbus currently operates a fleet of five regular Belugas.

SE-ROJ, SAS’ first A320neo to wear its new livery
SAS delivery of first A320neo in their new livery
SAS took delivery of SE-ROJ today, making it the first aircraft to join the fleet wearing the airline’s new livery. SAS’ first A350, slated for the delivery later this year, will be the first widebody aircraft to wear the livery.
