I had a delightful lunch in Palm Beach with Ari Afshar, my great friend and top broker from L.A. and Patrick Lafferty, who is now at Compass Palm Beach. We talked of all the high tech “invasion” of our real estate and whether it is “good or bad.” When Patrick told us the story of a young and newly licensed broker in Palm Beach, I decided that our personal relationships, genuine caring and interest in our clients is worth far more than more tech.
The new broker was invited by one of his old friends to join him for lunch at his Nana’s home. It turned out to be one of the estates on the ocean just south of the famous Worth Avenue in Palm Beach. A huge rainstorm blew in and water came pouring through the ceiling above their lunch table. Grandma declared that it must be time to sell, because it was just getting too difficult to maintain such a large home at her late age (in her 90’s).This lunch guest was so concerned he asked if there was any way he could help and she invited him back a few more times to just get to know him. He continued to check on her with genuine concern. She asked him to be her broker and he knew there was no way he could do this alone. So with the help of his office manager, they surrounded him
with a team of 4 experienced brokers from his new office, and they sold it to the neighbor for $110,000,000-REALLY.
My point is this: the reason many of us are in this business, especially at COMPASS, is because we really are interested in your story and how we can help you. I believe in honest and caring relationships, so that I can find you the best property for the best price OR help you sell quickly and for the most money.
I really rely on my Compass top brokers around the country so you get the same service from me no matter where you live!
