Dear Sangha Friend,
Deep in the heart of our Fall Ango training period, we're savoring the last hits of summer as the first batch of autumn leaves turns towards its next hue. By next week our renovated kitchen is due to be completed and put into service, just in time for the season's meditation intensives and some exciting programs.
On October 13-15 dharma holder Zuisei Goddard will lead a retreat entitled The Four Foundations of Mindfulness: Working with Body, Mind, Thoughts and Feelings. She'll guide us through the Satipatthana Sutta, one of the Buddha's earliest and most central teachings on how to examine and work skillfully with our human experience in all its complexity. In this retreat, we'll use these profound teachings as a springboard for an in-depth discussion of the three qualities of energy, mindfulness, and clear comprehension, and their relationship to our practice and lives. Drawing on our vast, inherent capacity for wisdom, kindness, and stability, we'll focus particularly on tools to work with difficult thoughts and feelings. Find out more on the program page.
