Dear Sangha,

Hojin Sensei will be at the Temple this week, arriving on Tuesday to offer daisan and give Sunday's talk. Gokan will be here as senior staff person. On Saturday, Christian McEwen will visit the Temple to lead Learning to Pause: A Creative Writing Retreat. Also this week, there will be a Sangha Treasure meeting on Thursday evening. Please see below for more information about upcoming programs.

Learning to Pause: A Creative Writing Retreat: On Saturday, April 21st, 10am-4pm, writer, educator, and cultural activist Christian McEwen will visit the Temple to offer a workshop on creative expression as an antidote to the sense of rush and haste in our lives. The day will focus on the pleasure of ordinary activities - walking, talking, writing, drawing, telling stories - and how these may be a gateway to more sustained creative work.

Sangha Treasure Meeting: On Thursday, April 19th, 7-9pm, everyone is invited to join us for a Sangha Treasure Meeting. These meetings provide a chance for us to come together as a sangha to share our experience of practice and training. We use small groups and peer facilitation to create a safe, receptive space in which to speak and listen to each other. Both long-time and newer practitioners are invited to come and share perspectives - anyone who is an active member of the sangha. Senior monastic Gokan Bonebakker will serve as meeting chairperson. The meeting will follow one period of evening zazen, 6:30-7pm.
