UW-Whitewater Early Child Care and Education Program
This new program is designed to help advance the career of early childhood professionals by providing a flexible and responsive pathway toward a degree. Rather than taking a prescribed list of classes set by and through one campus, students enrolled in Early Child Care and Education (ECCE) program have the power to make choices to steer them toward the degree they want. Additionally, students are helped to find the courses they need, in the format they need (face to face, online, hybrid), at the college or university they need.
Program Highlights:
  • ECCE is best suited for those who want to work in child care, preschool, head start, or one of the many organizations focused on supporting young children and families.‚Äč
  • ECCE is a non-license early childhood degree, designed for working professionals who have earned at least one credential, and want to stack credential-based credits toward a degree.
  • ECCE program requires 120 credits. All students are required to complete a minimum of 30 credits through UW-Whitewater, the remaining credits may be taken through other accredited universities, colleges or technical colleges.
  • Students work with the Program Coordinator to develop an individualized plan, based on their previous education and their professional goals.
  • Individualized plans may include coursework, class format, and location.
