Dear Father, Parish Director, Deacon,

These past several months have reopened the wound of clergy sexual abuse in our archdiocese and across the United States.

What’s so different is that our young adults today were in grade school, high school or college back in 2002, and may not have been engaged or following the archdiocesan response.  Today, we are hearing over and over, “what are you doing about this in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.”

To assist Catholics in understanding what has been done and what we are doing today, Archbishop Listecki has written a letter to the Faithful of the archdiocese that can be used as a bulletin insert.  This insert tries to summarize and list all the things that have been done in the archdiocese since 2002, or even before.  In addition, a Q&A with the Archbishop from a recent Catholic Herald interview on this topic has also been formatted for use as a bulletin insert.

These resources are available here.   Feel free to use them as you see fit to assist your parishioners’ understanding of what has been done in the past and what is being done today in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.

We hope you find these helpful.  If you have other ideas regarding what might be helpful for people on this issue, please let me know.

Sincerely yours,

Jerry Topczewski
