China Eastern 5735 fell nearly 30,000 feet in two minutes 

The 737-800 was flying from Kunming to Guangzhou when it began a precipitous descent from 29,100 feet. The data indicates the aircraft climbed back up to 8,600 ft before falling again.

What are investigators looking for?

On this week’s episode of AvTalk, we discuss what the ADS-B data can—and cannot—tell us about the crash and what investigators are focusing on. Chinese investigators have confirmed that one of the flight recorders has been recovered. Additionally, Chinese officials have said that a piece of wreckage believed to be from flight 5735 was found about 10 kilometers from the main wreckage.
