Whether it be a terror attack in Israel, or a war zone thousands of kilometres from Israel, MDA is always prepared and the first to respond thanks to donors like you!
In one week three terrorist attacks have devastated Israel, leaving 11 dead and six wounded. This follows two Islamic State inspired attacks in the northern city of Hadera and the southern city of Be'er Sheva.
The shattering spate of terrorist attacks on civilians entered the streets of Bnei Brak, where 5 victims were killed; following this MDA EMTs and paramedics were dispatched to another incident in Machane Yehuda, Jerusalem to treat two patients.
Menahem Englander, an MDA paramedic and Bnei Brak resident came face to face with the terrorist who pulled the trigger of his gun directly at him. Somehow the gun either jammed or was out of bullets. Menahem ran into his home to call authorities.
During this time, sadly, the terrorist continued his rampage. His 5 victims were two residents of Bnei Brak, two Ukrainian foreign workers and a member of Israel’s security forces, a Druze who eventually was able to kill the terrorist but was sadly killed in the line of duty as the terrorist shot back.
The Bnei Brak gunman was a Palestinian from near Jenin in the Palestinian Territories. Both Hamas and the Islamic State celebrated the slaughter in Bnei Brak and promised more to come.
We wish the families of the victims Long Life, Baruch Dayan Ha’emet.

Israel opened the Shining Star field hospital in Mostyska, Ukraine just one week ago. It is operated by Sheba Medical Centre, Israel’s Health Ministry and Clalit HMO (Health Maintenance Organization). Within the first five days, the hospital had treated more than 730 locals and refugees from other parts of Ukraine and performed 16,000 lab tests.
One patient was a girl who had surgery in Israel two years ago for a kidney problem. She recently developed another medical complication. When her family heard the Israelis had set up a hospital in Ukraine, they drove her 48 hours, because of their trust in the Israeli medical system.
The hospital—which is equipped with over 100 tons of medical supplies flown in from Israel is staffed by Jewish, Muslim and Christian personnel from Israeli hospitals, HMO’s and Magen David Adom (MDA).
In addition, a team of paramedics, EMTs and physicians from MDA and Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Centre have established a field clinic in Moldova, at the request of the Kishinev Jewish community, for Ukrainian refugees.
Magen David Adom has no boundaries when it comes to SAVING LIVES.
Thank you to all our donors who ensure Magen David Adom is fully equipped and ready for any situation.
Lastly, the Ministry of Health’s vaccine program, run alongside Magen David Adom, the Welfare Ministry and the Joint, for the benefit of refugees from the war in Ukraine will reach Ashdod and Nof Hagalil on Friday, 1.4.22, and enable the refugees to receive the Corona vaccine, as part of the national battle against the pandemic.
The vaccines will be administered according to the Ministry of Health’s guidelines, for those who have not yet been vaccinated, those who have been infected with Covid but more than three months have passed, as well as those who need either their second, third or fourth vaccine. Youth aged between 12-18 will need to show parental permission.
Another fabulous initiative for MDA in Israel.
Chag Pesach Sameach to all.
Shabbat shalom
