Tibet Airlines A319 suffers runway excursion on departure
Sometimes (but very rarely) news breaks before we record the podcast. This week a Tibet Airlines A319 suffered a runway excursion during its departure roll. The aircraft veered off the runway with both engines and the landing gear breaking away from the aircraft.

A close call in Mexico City
Earlier this week in Mexico City a Volaris A320neo was on the runway preparing to take off when a second Volaris A320neo was cleared to land. Controllers were alerted to the conflict just in time and the aircraft on approach performed a go around for safe landing. This incident comes just days after a letter was sent to Mexican regulators expressing concern about the abilities of the air traffic controllers to conduct safe operations.
