FAA, NTSB investigating ‘close call’ in Boston
The FAA is investigating what it calls a ‘close call’ between a Learjet 60 and JetBlue E190 in Boston on Monday night. Per the FAA, the Learjet “took off without clearance” on RWY 9 as the JetBlue flight was landing on RWY 4R. The NTSB announced its own investigation on Wednesday. NTSB investigating a loss of separation in Burbank
An arriving Mesa Airlines CRJ-900 performed a go around as the departing SkyWest E175 was still occupying the runway. On climb out the aircraft came near enough to activate a TCAS resolution advisory.

Pilots give passengers surprise Northern lights tour
Pilots on a few flights this week allowed all passengers on their flights to see the spectacular and strong Northern lights. The flights made 360° turns so that passengers on the non-aurora side of the aircraft could see as well.

Viva Air halts all flights
Colombia’s Viva Air has temporarily suspended all flights while it awaits a ruling on its proposed merger with Avianca. The airline abruptly canceled all of its nearly 100 daily flights leaving other airlines to step in and help passengers to their destinations.
