737 MAX in storage
Reuters: FAA in final stages of 737 MAX review

Boeing has spent the last 19 months modifying MCAS and other systems on the MAX.

After FAA approval, airlines will still need to modify their aircraft and train their pilots, so any passenger flights will still be weeks—if not months—away. There is also the issue of regulators outside the US who intend to issue their own approvals.
