Undesirable retraction afflicts BA 787

British Airways 787-8 G-ZBJB suffered a nose gear collapse during cargo loading at London’s Heathrow Airport this week. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, which is now under investigation by the UK AAIB. This is the third recorded nose gear collapse by a 787.

Lufthansa reactivating a handful of A340-600s 

And in an announcement today, Lufthansa said it will reactivate 5 of its A340-600 aircraft for the 2022 summer season, serving North American and Asian destinations from Munich. Lufthansa’s planning for the large aircraft in summer 2022 gives a strong positive indication of where the airline thinks the market will be by then.

N403KZ is the first Kalitta Air aircraft to wear the airline’s new livery. The new paint says goodbye to the cheat line and centers the titles on the fuselage. The aircraft has completed a check flight and should be back in service soon.
