Don't Get Hooked by Phishing Scams
Our Technical Support team receives numerous emails daily from customers concerned about the legitimacy of emails. Phishing emails are fraudulent emails deliberately designed to appear legitimate from reputable businesses, making them more challenging to identify. It's important to remember that Waitsfield and Champlain Valley Telecom will never send emails requesting account verification or passwords. If you're ever unsure about the authenticity of an email, don't hesitate to contact us. To assist you in determining the legitimacy of emails, we’ve compiled the following helpful tips.
Remember, the safest course of action when encountering a suspected phishing email is to simply delete it.

Exciting Update: CommandIQ App & ProtectIQ Now Available for WCVT Fiber Customers
We're excited to share some great news for our fiber customers: two powerful new features are now available—the CommandIQ Wi-Fi app and ProtectIQ network security.
With the CommandIQ App, you can easily manage your home WiFi network, view connected devices, easily change your SSID, and set up optional parental controls—all from your smartphone. This application is available for all fiber customers that are using our Calix U4 or U6 routers/WiFi access points.
In addition, we have also rolled out ProtectIQ for all customers also using our Calix U4 or U6 gateways. This built-in network security feature works quietly in the background to scan for threats and prevent intrusions. You will be able to view alerts and customize your protection settings directly in the Command IQ App.
Both features are included with your service and are ready to use today!

WCVT Lends a Hand (and a Cherry Picker) in Richmond
In late May, a team of WCVT employees dedicated a day to cleaning the windows of the iconic Round Church in Richmond. This initiative, organized by the Richmond Historical Society, aimed to refresh the beloved landmark just in time for visitors and the upcoming wedding season.
The Historical Society expressed its sincere gratitude to WCVT for its unwavering support and the invaluable assistance provided by using a cherry picker, which significantly simplified the cleaning process.
