It's hard to believe that summer has come to an end and the kids are heading back to school! This time of year always seems to arrive faster than expected. It's also hard to believe that a full year has passed since we purchased Tilson's Vermont fiber assets and began serving customers in Danville and Lunenburg. We want to thank our customers in those communities for the warm welcome and continued support over the past year. We are proud to be your local broadband provider and look forward to serving you for many years to come.
As we move into the fall season, our fiber expansion efforts continue at a steady pace. Every day, more homes and businesses are being connected to our state-of-the-art fiber network, bringing faster speeds and greater reliability to customers across our service area. We're also very close to finalizing our BEAD grant funding, which will help us complete the remaining portions of our network build and connect customers who are still waiting for fiber service. This funding represents an important step toward ensuring that everyone in our communities has access to the broadband service they need for work, school, healthcare, and entertainment.

Backup Power for Fiber Customers: What You Need to Know
Fiber provides fast, reliable phone and internet service, but unlike traditional copper lines, it requires power to operate. During a power outage, your fiber-based phone and internet will also stop working—unless you have a battery backup or another power source, such as a generator or a whole-home system. Without backup power, you won't be able to make calls, including 911.
WCVT provides one free backup battery at installation for phone service subscribers. Internet-only subscribers can purchase a battery if they wish. If you don't already have backup power, we recommend installing a battery to keep your phone service active during outages.

Come see us at the Bristol Harvest Festival, which will take place on the Bristol Town Green on Saturday, September 26th, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This is an event we attend annually and a great opportunity to meet our customers face-to-face and answer any questions. WCVT's Commitment to Supporting Local Schools Through the Backpack Program
For more than 15 years, WCVT has proudly supported our local communities through our annual Backpack Program. Funded by our Contributions Committee and our employees' generous donations, the program helps local schools purchase essential supplies, ensuring students start the school year prepared and ready to learn. This year, we were proud to support 27 schools across our service area. We wish all teachers and students a fun, successful, and rewarding school year!

The 36th Annual Green Mountain Photo Show | September 13 – October 11 | Waitsfield
Mad River Valley Arts and the Valley Artist Guild have teamed up to present the 36th annual Green Mountain Photo Show at the historic Red Barn Galleries at Lareau Farm in Waitsfield. The show celebrates the diversity of contemporary photography, featuring black-and-white and color works ranging from realism to abstraction. The exhibition showcases large-format and intimate photographs by amateur and professional photographers, displayed throughout the historic Red Barn Galleries. The exhibit runs from September 13 to October 11, with Thursdays and Fridays from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 to 8:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Bristol Harvest Festival | Saturday, September 26 | Bristol
The 26th annual Bristol Harvest Festival, co-hosted by the Addison County Chamber and the Bristol Recreation Department, will be held on Saturday, September 26th. The town green will come alive at 10 a.m. with 70+ craft vendors and exhibitors, kids' activities, food trucks, and live musical entertainment on the bandstand throughout the day. WCVT is a proud sponsor of this event!
