Air India and DGCA investigating report fuel cutoff switch problem
On this week’s episode of AvTalk, we discuss what we know about this week’s incident involving an Air India 787 in London. Upon landing in Bangalore, the pilots reported that the fuel control switches twice moved from run to cutoff during the start up sequence. The Indian DGCA says that incorrect procedures and pressure on the switches could lead to problems, but the switches themselves are working as designed.
Plus, the FAA finalizes regulations requiring 25-hour cockpit voice recorders on most aircraft.

SAS flight attempts taxiway take off
While departing Brussels on Thursday evening, flight SK2590 began its takeoff roll while on a taxiway parallel to the runway. Granular ADS-B data shows the aircraft accelerating to 119 knots before applying brakes and coming to a stop on an intersecting taxiway. Passengers disembarked via air stairs and were bussed back to the terminal. The incident aircraft, SE-ROM, remains on the ground in Brussels as of Friday morning.
