Jazz CRJ-900 and La Guardia ARFF truck collide on the runway
On Sunday evening a landing CRJ-900 collided with a fire fighting truck while landing on La Guardia’s RWY 04 in New York. The pilots of the CRJ were killed in the crash and 40 others were taken to hospital. Investigators from the NTSB are on scene to begin their work.

FAA investigating close call between United 737 and US Army Black Hawk
Earlier this week a US Army Black Hawk helicopter crossed in front of a United Airlines 737 on approach to Santa Ana. United pilots reacted to a traffic collision warning in the 737, stopping their descent before continuing for a safe landing. This incident comes days after the FAA issued new guidance to ATC banning the use of visual separation for helicopters near the country’s busiest airports.
