Shalom Emma

In the past six months, Magen David Adom has collected
1.5 tons of milk for premature babies, infants whose mothers were injured during the October 7 massacre, and babies of IDF officers and others.

About 25% of blood donors are women in an average month, but since October 7, that percentage
has spiked to 52%.

Dr Eilat Shinar, Director of MDA's Blood Services division, spoke at The Jerusalem Post's Women Leaders' Summit on March 27 in Tel Aviv and took the opportunity to salute the women who made all these efforts, adding that "80% of Magen David Adom blood services workers and around 50% of all other staff are women".

Dr. Shinar also described MDA’s important role in saving the lives of injured IDF service members. MDA supplies all of the blood needed by the IDF and is now providing the “full blood” right in the field. MDA-trained paramedics and doctors are equipped with medicine, dried plasma, and full blood, greatly decreasing the number of deaths in the battlefield due to blood loss from 14% to less than 7%. “All of these things resulted in a decline in mortality.” Dr Shinar states.

How can you help from Australia? - Your donation provides the equipment, training and technology that makes MDA's lifesaving work possible.

We continue to pray for the safe return of the hostages
and the people of Israel.

SUN 31 MARCH:
THREE SERIOUSLY WOUNDED IN TERROR STABBING AT GAN YAVNE MALL.
Medicycle first responders, Ambulances and Mobile Intensive Care Units (MICUs) were immediately dispatched to the scene.

The three, all in serious condition, are identified as a 25-year-old man, a 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy.

MDA Medics found the teen on a sidewalk some 100 meters away from the two other victims at the shopping center, with extensive stab wounds all over his body. He was rushed to a hospital fully conscious. The two others were found next to a cafe in the shopping center. The 25-year-old was partially conscious, and medics had to fight to keep him alive while en route to Ashdod’s Assuta Hospital. The 20-year-old was found unconscious, and both victims had been stabbed multiple times in the upper body.

“This was a difficult scene,” says MDA paramedic Shiri Barlev.

Security forces responding to the attack shot and killed the terrorist, who was identified as a 19-year-old Palestinian from Dura, located near Hebron in the West Bank.
SUNDAY 31 MARCH:
TERRORIST STABS TWO ISRAELIS
IN BEER SHEVA

A terrorist stabbed two soldiers at the central station in Beer sheva, the time of week when the station is at its busiest.

Another soldier present at the scene shot and killed the terrorist.

MDA paramedics provided medical treatment to the 20-year-old officer with a stab wound in moderate condition. Another soldier was lightly wounded, and both were evacuated to Soroka Medical Center in stable condition. Additionally, a bus driver was treated for a panic attack.
MDA MEDICS ALMOST
BECAME THE PATIENTS
For most Israelis, a Magen David Adom ambulance signals that help has arrived. But for terrorists, whose goal is to end lives, every MDA vehicle is a target.

A terrorist fired shots at an MDA ambulance near Jerusalem, striking the windshield and roof. Fortunately, because the vehicle was armored, one of more than two dozen such vehicles that MDA has, the rounds didn’t penetrate the ambulance and the crew was unharmed.

Several IDF soldiers were injured in an exchange of gunfire with the terrorist, who was ultimately neutralized and MDA medics, together with the IDF, treated and evacuated seven casualties to nearby hospitals.
